This unit enables learners to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to safely carry out the removal and replacement of components in hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) systems. The unit also ensures that the technician is aware of the hazards posed by hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle systems and the safe working practices to follow when carrying out removal and replacement activities.

Modules

It contains one mandatory unit covering knowledge of:

Hydrogen vehicle system components and operation hazards surrounding hydrogen vehicles. How to reduce the risks to yourself and others when working on hydrogen vehicles. Safely preparing the vehicle when carrying routine maintenance (NOT high voltage components or systems)

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for anyone who carries out repair work on hydrogen vehicles and is required to replace components on the system.You will have to complete the level 2 course prior to undertaking this course.. As employers you have a responsibility for anyone handling electricity as part of their job role.

What existing knowledge is needed?

A level 2 in hydrogen powered vehicles, A level 3 in EV and Hybrid vehicles, a Level 3 or significant industry experience in vehicle technology is useful.
